Karen Tidwell-Hacker Obituary

Karen Lenell Tidwell-Hacker passed away on November 2, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  She was born on December 29, 1952 in Haleyville, Alabama the oldest daughter of Orville K. and Rebecca (Baughn) Tidwell.  Karen was a 1971 graduate of Bellevue High School.

Karen’s life was defined by her strong work ethic.  She worked at General Electric in Bellevue, Van Dresser, Magretech and Ventra.  She made many friends during those years.

Karen loved reading mysteries, going to garage sales and most importantly her family.

She is survived by two sons: Eric (Rachel) Gettys of Oregon, Ohio and Huston Daniel (Sarah) Hall of Dublin, Ohio; four grandchildren, Corrin Gettys, Jayce Leathers, Callie Hall, and Silas Hall.  She is also survived by her mother, Rebecca Tidwell; sisters, Marta (Rich) Close, Dinah (Mick) Dwyer, and Gina Nuhfer; brother-in-law, Freddie Damo and numerous nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Orville K. Tidwell; sister, Cynthia Damo; and her grandparents, Austin K. and Dorothy (Rose) Baughn and James Marvin and Lula (Knight) Tidwell.

Private services will be held at a later date.  Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.

Memorials in Karen’s honor may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
