Karen l Hirt

Karen L. Hirt, 74, of Cape Coral, FL passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 in Port Clinton.  She was born May 26, 1946 in Fremont, Ohio the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Colvin) Hallowell.

She was the office manager at Hirt Investments for many years.

Karen graduated from Ross High School in 1964. Karen was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Port Clinton and former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bellevue.

Karen was a Philanthropist and was involved in many charities over the years.  Her favorites were the Bellevue Society for the Arts and the Bellevue Hospital and many other families and organizations.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Hirt whom she married April 24, 1970 in Fremont; two sons: Brian Hirt of Fremont and Kurtiss Hirt of Port Clinton; mother, Gladys Hallowell of Tiffin; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, brothers, Mike Terry of Tiffin, Doug Terry of Tiffin, and her sister, Cheryl Kavanagh of Holland, MI.  She was preceded in death by her father.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Catawba Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2370 NE Catawba Rd, Port Clinton, OH 43452.  Masks and social distancing are required for the service.
