Julie E. Manton, age 49 of Fremont, OH, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at The Willows of Bellevue. Julie was born April 28, 1976, in Youngstown, OH, the daughter of James Manton and the late Mary (Barringer) Manton.
Julie’s life was one marked by creativity, compassion, and a light that could be felt by everyone who knew her. She worked for many years at Sandco Industries and Wynn-Reeth, Inc., and gave countless hours of her time coaching basketball for Sandusky County Special Olympics, along with participating in many other activities through the Sandusky County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Julie had a deep love for music, especially The Beatles, and for art in all its forms. A gifted and passionate artist, she spent many years as a tattooist, leaving behind not only beautiful artwork, but meaningful stories carried by those who wear it.
Her family was truly blessed to have her in their lives. Julie’s smile could light up a room, and she shared it often and freely. The world was a better place with Julie in it, and her absence has left a space that only Julie could fill. “The people that walk in darkness have seen a great light,” and to all who knew and loved her, Julie was that light.
Julie is survived by her father and step-mother, James (Belinda) Manton of Sandusky; sister, Melissa (John) Debo of Fremont; nephews: Tristen and Zachary Epling; great-niece, Lesleigh Epling; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Julie is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Manton; paternal grandparents: Rev. Albert and Hazel Manton; and maternal grandparents: Leo and Delores Barringer.
Services for Julie will be held privately.
