Joyce Hoersten, 84, Bellevue, peacefully passed away Saturday morning, December 4th, 2021, at The Willows facility in Bellevue.
Joyce was born in Van Wert County Ohio. the daughter of Raymond and Bertha Spieles. She graduated in 1955 from Delphos St. John’s High School, and married Arthur Hoersten in 1957 at St. John’s Catholic Church also in Delphos Ohio. They moved to Bellevue in 1958.
She was an active member of Bellevue Immaculate Conception Church Altar Rosary Society, St. Christopher Study Club, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. Joyce worked part time at Sorrowful Mother Shrine Gift Shoppe and volunteered many years at the Bellevue Hospital Gift Shop and the Fish and Loaves organization.
In addition, she was a member of numerous Bridge and Euchre Clubs. Enjoyed reading and being with friends in “The Friday Night Dinner Club”. Her ultimate joy was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, hosting a wide range of family events and being involved in all their activities.
Joyce is survived by her seven children, Mark (Beth) Hoersten, Jodi (Daniel) Fry, Janice (Rick) Hoersten, David Hoersten, Craig (Claudia) Hoersten, Jill (David) Miller, and Matthew (Kary) Hoersten; 18 grandchildren, Luke, Bradley, Jenna, Anna, Kevin, Steven, Troy, Shauna, Tyler, George, Naomi, Aubrey, Reece, Isabella, Sophia, Ava, Emma, and Seth. And 14 great-grandchildren, with more on the way. Also, her two sisters, JoAnn (Joseph) Liebrecht, and Janice (Robert) Garlich.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
A private Funeral Mass was held on December 8th at Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue with burial at the Bellevue Catholic Cemetery
