Josephine M. (Provenzale) Redinger, 90, of Sandusky passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, September 17, 2022. Josey was born to Samuel and Carmella (Cappaton) Provenzale on November 2, 1931. She attended Bellevue High School. She had been employed by Bellevue GE and Foodtown.
Josey was an excellent cook, living up to her Sicillian heritage. Her signature dish was eggplant parmigiana which she loved sharing. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Club Amer-Ital and the Bellevue Elks. One of the things she enjoyed was trips to the casino, also in her younger years she belonged to bowling leagues.
Survivors include her children: Deborah Claus, Rick (Jackie) Gundrum, Annette (David) Whinnery, Deanne (Craig) Zariello; daughter-in-law, Teresa Gundrum; grandchildren, David Claus, Melissa Leach, Tony Gundrum, Gabe Gundrum, Ethan Gundrum, Jacob Gundrum, Jessica Gowitzka, Emily Yontz, Shannon Smith, Corey Smith, Jordan Ramone, and Tayler Redinger. There are also 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Josey was preceded in death by husbands, Clement “Bud” Barnes and Harold “Dean” Redinger; son, Gary Gundrum; grandsons, Lucas Gundrum, David “D.J.” Whinnery and Stephen Claus; her parents; siblings, Samuel Provenzale, William Provenzale, Joseph Provenzale, James Provenzale, Brother Charles of the Dominican Order, Clara Stape, Theresa Provenzale, Theresa Kudro, Beatrice Siegel, Mary Bilitski, Rose Mary Karalewitz and a set of twins at birth.

At her request, a private family memorial will be held. Foos and Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
