Josephine Dendinger, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025, at The Bellevue Hospital in Bellevue, Ohio, at the age of 81. Born February 23, 1944, in Norwalk, Ohio, to Edward and Helen (Burkholder) Stallkamp. Josephine lived a life filled with love, family, and dedication.
A 1962 graduate of Monroeville High School, Josephine married the love of her life, Robert Dendinger, on October 5, 1963, at St. Joseph’s Church in Monroeville. Their union lasted nearly six decades, until Robert’s passing in 2022. Primarily a homemaker, Josephine also briefly worked at the General Electric Lamp Plant. Her true passions, however, lay in the nurturing of her family and the pursuit of her many hobbies. She found immense joy in sewing, baking, crafting, and tending her garden. Josephine was a warm and sociable woman, cherishing time spent with loved ones and maintaining close connections with her family. Her kind heart extended to animals, particularly her beloved dogs. Above all, Josephine’s greatest love was caring for her family, and she treasured her grandchildren deeply.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Dendinger of Eau Claire, WI; daughter, Kathy (Brian) Kistler of Tiffin, Ohio; grandchildren Theo, Coralai, Ella, Evan, and Eden; sisters Nancy (John) Alt, Ruth (Melvin) Mason, Margaret (Clayton) Wright, and Mary (Dannie) Ellis; and sister-in-law, Nancy Stallkamp.
In addition to her parents and husband, Josephine was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Charles Stallkamp.
