Afterward, he worked as a journeyman glass mouldmaker for Tiffin Glass and then worked for a brief time at Ball Brothers in Muncie, IN. In 1956 he was hired as a journeyman toolmaker at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, OH. He later became a mouldmaker and retired from Ford on January 1, 1996.
