John Dunchee Eastman, aged 93, passed away on September 23, 2025 peacefully at the Willows of Bellevue. He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather,and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John was born on August 3, 1932 in Dresden, Ohio. He entered the Air Force on December 12, 1951 where he served as a plane mechanic. He was stationed throughout the world but mostly spoke about his time during the time when he was stationed in Japan. John joined the Ford Motor Company, Sandusky Plant working for 30 years. Upon retirement he spent time with his family.
John was an active member of his community, volunteering for various organizations. He was an active member in Monroeville as Councilman. He was also an active member of the American Legion in Monroeville, VFW in Bellevue, Eagles 490, APIC, Roby Lodge 534, Scottish Rite.
John married his beloved wife, Treva Hornby on June 20, 1959 at Fireside, Ohio. They had three children Cora Eastman, Kelly Eastman, and Jay (Sue)Eastman. John is survived by his children; Cora, Kelly, and Jay Eastman, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved his grandchildren; Nick(Brandi) James, Alex(Katie) James, Zack(Hailey) James, Sarah(Alex) Wilson, Jake Eastman, Joe Eastman. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his great grandchildren; Collins, Vivian, Lydia, Elliot, Charlotte, Axel, and Kade.
In his free time, John loved making holiday cheese and bread. He loved watching THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES, giving gifts of candy and flowers. John was known for always giving. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
The family wants to give a special thank you to all of the staff at the Willows of Bellevue for taking such great care of him.
A graveside funeral service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, September 26 at 1 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Monroeville. Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue is in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fish and Loaves Bellevue.
