Joanne M. Brandal, 84, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center. She was born February 19, 1941 in Findlay, Ohio the daughter of John P. and Ann Marie (Yonke) Alesch.
A 1959 graduate of Findlay High School, Joanne first married Donald L. Moyer, and they had four beloved children together before they divorced. On December 31, 1976, she married Richard A. Brandal, who passed away in 2008. Joanne dedicated 21 years to driving a school bus for Bellevue Schools and also worked as a pro shop attendant at the former Sleepy Hollow Golf Course. She was a member of the Eagles 490 Auxiliary and found joy in playing bingo, golfing, bowling, and especially taking trips to the casino with her friends.
She is survived by her son, John (Kim) Moyer of Bellevue; two daughters, Susan (David) Hennard of Cincinnati and Teresa Shetzer of Fremont ; son-in-law, James E. Colvin Jr.; step-children: Veronica (Tim) Godfrey of Bellevue, Dawn Miller of Huron, Brent (Jackie) Brandal of Huron; 7 grandchildren: Chelsea Moyer, Courtney (Joel) Payne, John Moyer II, Jessica (Kyle) Barnett, James E. (Taylor) Colvin III, Paige Shetzer, and Ryan Shetzer; step-grandchildren: Amanda Santiago, Adam Godfrey, Shane Brandal, Brittan Miller, Brett Miller, Braun Miller, Brooklyn Marshall; 8 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; brothers, John “Jack” Alesch of Florida and Robert (Wenda) Alesch of Findlay; sister-in-law, Sharon Mowry of Bellevue; her lifelong friend, Margy Myers and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Colvin; step-daughter, Jodi Brandal; and step grandson, Joshua Smith; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Alesch and Sarah Strause.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 11, from 4-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Private burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Findlay.
