Joan "Jo" I. (Mooney) Wing

Joan “Jo” Irene Wing, age 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, June 27, 2021 surrounded by her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Joan was born on May 5, 1938 to Eldon and Aldina (Meinke) Mooney and was married to Clifford E. Wing for 55 years until his death in 2010. She was mother to 4 children, Chris and Cindy (Casias) Wing of White House, Tennessee, Cynthia and Terrence Cullen of Clyde, James and Cheryl (Johnson-Mackey) Wing of Clyde, and Janet Sue Wing (deceased). Jo was the proud Grandmother of 8, Alicia Wing of White House, Tennessee, Janet (Amanda) Wagner of White House, Tennessee, John (Sarah) Wagner of Grovetown, Georgia, Brion Cullen of Clyde, Nicole (Aaron) Foster of Green Springs, Deric Wing of Clyde, Lynda (Andrew) Chudzinski of Fremont, and Robert Mackey of Clyde. She was blessed with eleven great grandsons. 

She is survived by her sisters Nancy and Barbara Mooney of Clyde and brothers Richard (Barbara) Mooney of Fremont and Karl “Skip” (Kathy) Mooney of Rudolph, Ohio. In addition to her parents, husband, and daughter, Jo was preceded in death by her brothers William (Pamela), Donald (Gloria), and Roger Mooney, and sister Faye (Don) Nay. 

Jo enjoyed bowling, holding a sanction card for over 50 years and participating in league bowling at many establishments in the area over the years. She was an avid card player and loved playing Yahtzee with anyone who was up to the challenge. 

She worked for many years at Dale’s Market, downtown Clyde and ended her working career with 20 years as Produce Manager at Bassett’s IGA in Green Springs. Jo retired in September of 2003. 

Friends will be received Friday, July 2, 2021 from 11am until a funeral service beginning at 1pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. Joan will be laid to rest beside her husband in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, following the service.
