Joan Swartz, 94, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at The Willows at Bellevue. Joan was born August 3, 1929 in Delaware, Ohio, the second of five children of Herbert and Edith Mitchell. She owned the Colonial Beauty Schop and was a Real Estate Agent with R.E. Swartz and Associates. Joan and her husband Ralph spent many years In Naples, Florida being active in Real Estate and Commercial Investments. Both Joan and Ralph enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, cards, and being with their many friends. After retirement she and Ralph returned to Bellevue and lived on Nancy Way in the Yorkshire Subdivision.
Joan is survived by four daughters: Vicki (Marc) McClain of Marblehead, Debra (John) Swartz of Bluffton, South Carolina, Kathy (Mike) Schneider of Marblehead, and Barbara Linder of Naples, Florida; one son, Tom Hillman of Bellevue; two step-sons, Mike (Sharon) Swartz of Sebastian, FL, and Mark (Jayne) Swartz of Clyde; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two brothers: Larry (Shirley) Mitchell and Vern (Bonnie) Mitchell; and sister, Joyce (Dan) Shramo.
In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Swartz and her brother, Charles Mitchell.
Friends will be received on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until a funeral service begins at 10:30 at First Church of Bellevue, 901 Northwest St, Bellevue, OH, United States, Ohio. Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held at First United Methodist Church, all are invited. Foos & Foos Funeral Service is in care of arrangements.
Memorial contributions in memory of Joan may be made to the First Church of Bellevue or the donor’s favorite charity.
