Jesse Clevinger

Jesse L Clevinger, age 87, of Fremont, Oh passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at The Bellevue Care Center in Bellevue, Oh. Jesse was born May 7, 1934 in Grundy, Va.  the son of the late Clarence “Bon” and Ethel (McClanahan) Clevinger.

Jesse was an avid golfer and a self-taught fiddle player. He enjoyed bluegrass and attended many festivals that he participated in. He played in several bands over the years. He loved gardening and always planted more than he needed and thoroughly enjoyed giving it away. He worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 42 years and retired in 1994. We will miss the many stories of his life growing up!

Jesse is survived by his children: Bruce (Susan) Clevinger of Hillsboro, Or., Robert (Heidi) Clevinger of Clyde, Oh., and Cindy (Kenneth) Orr of Bellevue, Oh.; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings: Vernal Ray Clevinger of Thonotosassa, Fl., Jerry Clevinger of Big Fox, Va., Adrian Clevinger of Grundy, Va., Darrell Clevinger of Narrows, Va., Lois Matney of Hurley, Va., and Carolyn Clevinger of Grundy, Va.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Joy Senters, Marie Bailey, Jettie Daugherty, and Wanda Holman.

Friends will be received Friday, Jul 2, 2021 from 11 a.m. until a funeral service begins at 1 pm at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, Oh. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery in Clyde.
