Jerry Montgomery, 75, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at The Bellevue Hospital. Born February 26, 1950, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to Kennie and Ressie (Back) Montgomery.
He dedicated his career to Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he worked diligently until his retirement. His free time was spent enjoying the outdoors – riding his motorcycle, mowing his yard, and loved a summer thunderstorm. The sounds of bluegrass music drifting from a bonfire were a cherished part of his peaceful evenings. Above all, Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, providing unwavering support and care for his family.
On August 16, 1969, he married the love of his life, Joan Marie (Green) Montgomery, at the Church of God Prophecy in Sandusky. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. He is survived by Joan; his two daughters, Pamela Marie Robinson of Bellevue and Melinda Ann (Dennis) Warner of New London; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and his siblings: Jason (Ruth) Montgomery of Bellevue, Willie B (Nellie) Montgomery of Morrow, Ohio, Dallas (Pauline) Montgomery of Salyersville, KY, Lila Gibbs of Cynthiana, KY, Mary Lou (Carljay) Holbrooks of Jackson, KY, and Alice Arnett of Salyersville.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Clayton (Elsie) Montgomery, Glen Montgomery, and Adrian Montgomery.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until a funeral service begins at 4:00 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
