Jerry Guthrie

Jerry Guthrie, 72, of Bellevue, Ohio and formerly Marblehead, Ohio, passed away on March 30, 2026 at Bellevue Care Center in Bellevue, Ohio. Jerry was born on January 14, 1954 in Kenvir, Kentucky to the late Lewis Guthrie and Lorine Gambrel Guthrie. 

Jerry retired from King Coach House Estates and worked for John Kosa Excavating as a heavy equipment operator.

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by two brothers and their wives, Ray and Bessie Guthrie, Glenn and Polly Guthrie, a sister and her husband, Lana and Britt Daniels; sister-in-law, Andrea Guthrie, father and mother-in-law, Librado and Angelita Cuevas, sister-in-law Suzanna Cuevas Anderson, and brothers-in-law, Carlos Cuevas and Joe Traub.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Maria Cuevas Guthrie, whom he married on February 10, 1973; children, Shawn Guthrie and Jerry Guthrie, Jr, sister, Donna Guthrie, brother, Dennis Guthrie, brother and sister-in-law, Reverend Mike Guthrie and Betty, sister-in-laws Diana Below, Norma Traub, and Marilyn Sue Cuevas, brother-in-law, Danny Cuevas, brother-in-law and wife Eddie and Doretta Cuevas, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Jerry’s visitation will be held at Evarts Funeral Home in Evarts, Kentucky. Visitation will be Wednesday. April 1, 2026 from 5-8 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend Mike Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens.
