Jeanne M. Rutherford, 92, of Clyde passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at The Gardens at Clyde. She was born March 2, 1929, the daughter of Will and Irene (Eckles) Brininger on her parent’s farm just south of Clyde.
Jeanne was a 1947 graduate of Clyde High School. She had been a member of the Clyde Christian Church since the age of 12. She enjoyed bowling for over 20 years and was a member of “The 600 Club”. She also enjoyed sewing Halloween costumes for family and friends; tending to her garden; completing crossword puzzles and mostly spending time with family, especially her great-great granddaughter, Braelyn.
Jeanne married Thomas Rutherford on November 30, 1946 in Newport, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2011, just two months shy of their 65th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by a daughter, Christina (Keith) Beier of Clyde; sons, Timothy (Peggy) Rutherford of Fremont, Anthony (Jacquee) Rutherford of Bay View, daughter-in-law, Marsha Rutherford of Tiffin; Grandchildren: Barry Rutherford, Lisa (Randy) Stohl, Heather (Brandon) Wolfe, Mark (Jodi) Rutherford, Kevin (Jen) Beier, Kasey (Izik) Beier, Amanda (Dan) Goff, Micheala Rutherford, and Autumn Baumer; step-grandchildren, Laura Baumann and Ryan Flick; great grandchildren: Jackie Stohl, Chrissy Stohl, Holly Stohl, Destinee (Ross) Freeman, Kaitlyn Beier, Austin Beier, Lori (Nathan) Frasure, Evan Reidmaier, Abbi Reidmaier, Brady Rutherford, Adeline Goff, and Amelia Goff; step-great grandchildren: Brandon Saldusky, Albert Baumann, Brook (Matt)Wytian; great great grandchildren: Braelyn Rhay Freeman, Kallen Joseph Bolt, and Aurora Jo Frasure; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Jeanne is preceded in death by her son, Terry L. Rutherford; grandson, Kerry Beier; great-great granddaughter, Rhacee Freeman; great-great grandson, Rhyder Freeman; brothers: J.W. “Skip” (Mildred) Brininger, Thomas (Leona) Brininger, and John (Alberta) Brininger; and sisters: Florence (Harry) Stump, Olive (Richard) Gearhart, Elizabeth (Richard) Zweifel, Margaret (Butch) Roddy.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. at Foos Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy., Clyde. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.
