James “Poppy” Veith, age 83, of Bellevue, OH passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2022 at The University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born December 11, 1938 in Nutter Fort, WV, the son of the late William A. and Mildred V. Veith (Butcher).
James worked in tool & die for 42 years at Johnson Furnace and Armstrong Air. James served our country in the Navy. He was a member of the Eagles 490 and Bellevue Masonic Lodge. James was also a Master Mason.
James is survived by his wife, Janet Veith, whom he married on December 8, 1962 in Lodi, OH; his son, Ted (Jan) Trip of Berkley Springs, WV; daughter, Susan Hosang (Brett Ward) of Bellevue; grandchildren, Jamie (Jake) Dendinger, Ericka Hosang (Sylvester Dendinger), Dylan J. Trip, Alec Ward, Skylar Ward, Morgan Ward, and Mason Ward; great grandchildren, Kenley, Kowyn, Karsyn, and Waylon Dendinger; brother, Frank (Gail) Veith; long time friends, Bob (Laurie) Gonzales and Bob Straub Sr.; and his dog, Sophie.
James is preceded in death by his parents; and brother Bill Veith.
Memorial donations can be made out to The American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society.
