James (Bacon) Root age 28 of Flat Rock passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic with his parents at his side. He battled Leukemia for the past 2 1/2 years. He was born April 10, 1992 in Bellevue, the son of Roger & Ann (Staab) Root who survive in Flat Rock.
Jimmie was a childcare provider before being diagnosed with AML. After his first bone marrow transplant he worked part time at Copper Top Bake Shop. He was involved in 4-H during his school years and an avid gamer. He enjoyed playing bass and was in a small local band for a short time. He enjoyed reading, drawing, listening to music, playing magic and hanging out with his friends and family, especially on game nights. James always talked about wanting to create video games.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother, Eric (Anna) Root of Bellevue, sister, Gloria Root of Flat Rock and his nieces Grace & Catherine Root.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Eben & Sandra Root, maternal grandparents, Michael Staab & Nora Staab, uncle, Rick Staab and cousin, Gregory Root.
Friends will be received Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 10:00 am until a memorial service begins at 11:00 am at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
Everyone is invited to a luncheon to follow the service at the Bellevue Eagles 490, 215 East Main St., Bellevue, OH
