James Frederick, 75, of Bellevue passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at Heritage Village in Clyde. He was born November 2, 1945 in Bellevue the son of Reuben and Gladys (Rife) Frederick.
James was a 1965 graduate of York High School. He was employed by Evert Brothers Tire and operated East Side Tire until retiring in 2010. He loved cars and cherished his green 1972 Dodge Charger SE. He enjoyed attending various car shows and participated in “Demolition Football” for over 30 years. James was a member of Eagles Aerie 490, the former Bellevue Moose, and also volunteered his time at Historic Lyme Village. When at home, he loved being outside tending to his garden and his pets.
He is survived by his wife, Gail (Miller-Hassinger) whom he married on July 29, 1994 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ; daughters, Alaina Hassinger, Emily (Mark) Eddington; son, Sam (Liz) Hassinger; grandchildren: Ben, Dylan, Jackson, and Madelynn; and three sisters, Virginia Stimson, Luci Garman, and Lillian Yetter;
IN addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his siblings: Robert, George, Eleanor, Barbara, Karen, and Chuck (who passed away in 1971 while serving in Vietnam).
Friends will be received on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 2 pm until a service officiated by Rev. Dr. Diane Carter begins at 3 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in James’ honor to Stein Hospice or Historic Lyme Village.
