Jack L. Mesnard, age 73 of Clyde, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Jack was born March 8, 1948, in Clyde and was the son of the late Zeldon and Evelyn (Bentrim) Mesnard.
A graduate of Clyde High School, Jack married his high school sweetheart, Dianna Ernsberger, in 1966. He worked at Glatfelter Paper as an Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician after high school until retirement in 2011.
Jack was a true family man and devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. He never missed his children’s or grandchildren’s school activities and sporting events. There are many fond family memories of trips to Colorado, Michigan, and Disney World, summers with the family in the backyard pool, themed Christmases complete with epic bingo games, and many family Easter egg hunts and birthday parties.
Jack enjoyed woodworking and could be found working in his garage and completing projects around the house and yard (Dianna always had a list for him!). He could build pretty much anything out of wood that you asked him to build. He had a witty sense of humor and was unbeatable at a basketball game of pig or a family game of croquet. An ultimate chocolate lover, Jack was also an avid model train collector and enjoyed building tracks in the basement and watching the trains run. Jack coached Clyde Little League for 12 years and brought home the first Little League Championship flag. His favorite local hangout spots include Netty’s and Jolly Roger’s, and quiet evenings at home were spent with Dianna watching Wheel of Fortune and Hallmark movies.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his children: Kelly (Amy) Mesnard, Jennifer Palicka, and Kimberly (Gary) Swartz; seven grandchildren: Jackie and Jamie Mesnard, Anthony (Drea) Palicka, Hannah (Justin) Rife, Zachary Palicka, Morganne (Brad) Doepker, and Garrison Swartz; three great-grandchildren: Clark Palicka, Lorelai Rife, and Sloane Doepker; and brother, Robert Mesnard.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his sisters: Pat Garza and Beverly Connor; and brother, Gary Mesnard.
Services for Jack will be held privately.
