Ida M. (Zeiter) Moyer

Ida M. Moyer, 98, of Bellevue passed away Sunday May 15, 2022 at Birchaven Village in Findlay, OH. She was born June 18, 1923 in Caroline, OH, the daughter of the late Alexander Zeiter and Mary Ellen (Thompson) Zeiter. She graduated from Attica High School in 1941, and in the same year married Carl S. Moyer of Bellevue.  They celebrated 54 years of marriage before Carl’s death in 1996.  

Ida is preceded in death by her sister Bernice (Zeiter) Crawford, and her three brothers, Clyde Zeiter, Peter Zeiter and Mervin Zeiter.

Ida is preceded in death by her eldest son Jack Moyer. She is survived by two sons, Larry and Dan Moyer, six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Ida enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing and cooking.  She was an avid reader and talented writer.  She loved animals and cared for a variety of pets during her long life.

Ida’s early childhood during the Great Depression taught her the value of hard work, and throughout her life she worked tirelessly to better herself and her family.  Her moral values and faith in the Lord added to the strength that guided her through a full and productive life.

Ida and Carl farmed several acres and operated a chicken farm in Bellevue for many years before starting their own business (Carlida Feed Service) providing feed supplements to livestock farmers in Bellevue and surrounding areas.

Ida and Carl wanted their children to have a good education and believed that each generation should seek opportunities for a better life.  Their three sons were the first in their families to attend college, and each pursued successful professional careers.

Ida’s good health and work ethics allowed her to maintain an expansive garden and enjoy her many interests well into her nineties. In recent years, she was cared for by her son Dan Moyer and his loving wife Linda in Findlay Ohio.  Her final years were spent in assisted care at Birchaven Village in Findlay Ohio, but she retained her smile and pursued her hobbies to the end.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.  Burial will follow at the Attica-Venice Cemetery.
