Ida Contos, 100, formerly of Clyde passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the Harbor Terrace Senior Living in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born May 12, 1924 in Winton-Salem, NC the daughter of Miffin and Aletha (Tuttle) Teague.
Ida worked at the General Electric Plant in Tiffin until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of Clyde Baptist Church, Clyde Eagles Auxiliary, GE retirees club, and the Allen Eiry Senior Citizens Club in Tiffin. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing roses and will be missed by her pet cats, Jasper and Gigi.
She married Andrew B. Contos on October 7, 1967 in Monroe, Michigan; He preceded her in death in 2005. Also preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, Robert Teague and Ronald Teague; sisters: Rose Ring, Ruth Hutchins, Mary A. Martin, and Sue Gwynn; and sons-in-law, Wayne Lynch and John Windsor.
Surviving are her children: Gary E. (Wendy) Johnson of Tiffin, Barbara A. Lynch of Green Springs, and Nancy E. Windsor of Spring Lake, MI; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Ida donated herself to the University of Toledo Anatomical Donation Program for further research. She will later be interred next to her husband at Fairmont Cemetery in Tiffin. Foos Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Clyde is assisting the family with arrangements.
