Helen Heath

Helen L. Heath, 96, of Bellevue went home into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 3, 2024 while living as a resident at O’Neill Health Care Center in Bay Village, Ohio.  She was born July 27, 1928 in Tioga, West Virginia, the daughter of George (Raymond)  and Opal McElwain.

Helen married Robert “Bob” L. Heath, Sr., in 1971 and both were long-time members of First Baptist Church, Bellevue.  Helen worked at The Bellevue Hospital, both as a nurse’s aide and as a licensed practical nurse in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s.  More importantly, Helen dedicated her life to caring for her children and step-children, training them in the Christian faith.

Helen is survived by her children: George (Mary Beth) Cooper of Avon, Ohio, Linda (Steven) Cooper-Smith of Tiffin, Deborah Cooper-Murray of Norwalk, and Mark (Patty) Cooper of Thompson, Ohio; step-children: Judy Heath Strecker, Robert (Kim) Heath Jr., and David (Jackie) Heath, all of Bellevue.  Helen is also survived by a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William E. Cooper Sr.; second husband, Robert L. Heath; siblings, Paul McElwain, Marie Yahnert, Doris Madsen, Betty Lowthain, James McElwain, and Connie Rein; children: Mary Ann Cooper as an infant, William Cooper Jr. and Dorothy Gaebelein; and step children: Larry Heath and Patricia Heath Oddo Jenkinson.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 9, 2024 from Noon until a funeral service begins at 2 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.  Burial will follow at Flat Rock Cemetery.
