Hazel Clair Orwig age 103 of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Willows of Bellevue.
She was born May 19, 1917 in Perkins Twp. The daughter of the late Hazen & Lena (Arheit) Hill.
She was a homemaker and a graduate of York High School.
Hazel was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and its Women’s Circle.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol J. Hoffman of Bellevue, sons, Nelson (Glenna) Orwig of Lawrence, KS, Wesley (Virginia) Orwig of El Paso, TX, Roger Orwig of Bellevue, sister, Emily Rose Schaffer of Berea, OH, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Edgar Orwig whom she married Oct. 26, 1935, sisters, Dorothy Pomerson, Alice Broud, and her brother Lester Hill.
Friends will be received Monday, Feb 1, 2021 from 4 – 7 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb 2, 2021 at 10 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest St., Bellevue, OH 44811 with Rev. Mark Bogen officiating. Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery, Bellevue.
Social distancing and mask use are required for both events.
