It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother Harriett Anne Foos (Lynch) on Saturday, October 8, surrounded by her loving family. Harriett was the beloved daughter of the late Irene and Edwin Lynch, growing up in Bellevue, raising her family in the Milan/Norwalk area, and living the last 43 years in Huron.
Harriett was a strong, independent woman, with a great sense of humor and keen wit. She brought up her four children to be the very best they could be, teaching them to be independent, resilient, respectful, and caring. She did this while working full-time at GM’s New Departure Hyatt in Sandusky. Harriett had a flair for decorating and always maintained a home that would make her mentors, aunts Emma and Marguerite Monak proud.
She loved making people feel comfortable wherever she was, whether it be with food, beverage, or spirited conversation. She enjoyed traveling, especially to see her family who are scattered about the country. Being well organized was both a passion and hobby, a well penned and placed post-it-note was her creative calling card. She was also a board member of the Beachwood Shores Condominium Association, serving as president for many years.
Harry Kelly, her beloved partner of 47 years, recently passed away in March. The two of them explored the world both near and far. They especially loved their times with family and friends at the Kelly family cabin in Gaylord, Michigan.
Harriett is survived by her brother Edward Lynch (Leslie), Venice, FL; her loving children: Jamie Delaney, Connecticut, Jacquie Batchelder (Jim), Vermilion, OH, Julie Hedrick (Craig), Fairfield, California, & Thomas Foos (Christine), Columbus, OH; grandchildren: Hallie (Chris), Luke (Kait), & Ryan; Paul (Jenny), Will, Jack & Ross; Sam & Jake; Alex & James, and great-grandchildren: Evie, Cole, Mac & Judd; and the children of her partner, Harry Kelly: Scott, Colleen and Rip Kelly (Lisa) and their children: Reid, Megan, Jack, Kendall & Julia; niece, Kerrie Lynch (Jerome) and nephew, Christopher Lynch (Lisa) and their children: Margot, Jean-Luc, Emma, Mary and Patrick.
Harriett was the absolute glue of our family and will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a woman of style, class, and grace.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 822 Barclay St, Marblehead, OH 43440.
