Graydon “Bud” Hayward, 79, of Bellevue passed away Monday, April 7, 2025 at The Bellevue Care Center. He was born September 2, 1945 in Bellevue the son of Ace and Raydelle (Rymers) Hayward.
Bud was a 1963 graduate of York High School and was a member of the York Panthers state qualifying basketball team. He was the second generation owner of Hayward Rigging & Construction. Bud devoted himself to his work and his family; he was a humble, modest man with a strong attachment to the community. He served on various boards throughout his career, including the Bellevue City School Board and the board of the former Industrial Savings & Loan.
He is survived by his son, Mark Hayward; grandchildren: Katie (Mike) Montgomery, Lauren (Robert) Fields, Ian (Amara) Hayward, Brandon Hayward, Aiden Hayward, Logan Hayward, and Aria Hayward; great-grandchildren: Karson, Maeve, Finn, Liam, Rowan, Austa, and Adelia; and siblings, Patricia Miller, Mary Miller, and Michael Hayward.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sons: Jeffrey Hayward and Greg Hayward; and brother, Roger Hayward.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 2 p.m. until a funeral service begins at 4 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
