Glen Churchill Obituary

Glen A. Churchill, age 58 of Clyde, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his home. Glen was born February 27, 1962 in Fremont, the son of Thomas Churchill and the late Marjory (Oberdorf) Burton.

Glen or as many of you know him as, Church, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and devoted friend to many. He worked for 36 years at Whirlpool. Glen knew how to enjoy life. He spent many fond years bowling in leagues, coaching the Clyde Flier boys bowling team, participating in golf leagues, and of course his time spent with his longtime teammates on the Slosswick Softball team. Glen made memories with countless people, and loved to share stories with friends and family that always made you feel as though you lived those memories right along with him. At home if you didn’t find Glen yelling at the coaching staff of his beloved Yankees or Ohio State Buckeyes you’d find him in the kitchen whipping up a batch of his famous pepper butter. Or perhaps setting up lincoln logs and army men to shoot down with rubber bands with his grandson. He enjoyed getting dinner and breakfast with the family, or stepping out with Karen to check out a local winery. Probably his most cherished pastime was spent on the water, planning and attending fishing trips with family and friends. Glen made a lasting impact on everyone who spent time with him, and will be forever missed.

In addition to his father, Glen is survived by his wife, Karen (Bennett) Churchill, whom he married March 25, 2004 in Reno, NV; step-father, Steve (Kathy) Burton of Bellevue; sons: Dale Churchill of Bellevue, Josh (Hilary) Churchill of Bellevue, Nick (Samantha) Churchill of Tiffin, and Seth (Taylor Young) Magers of Clyde; daughter, Carlie (Garit Witt) Magers of Clyde; grandchildren: Casen Churchill, Avilynn Churchill, and Emma Churchill; brother, Steve (Christy Henry) Burton of Fremont; sisters: Gwen Churchill of Willard and Cathy (John) Stiger of Nortonville, KY; numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Max.

Glen is preceded in death by his mother.
