Gary Thanasiu

Gary Thanasiu, age 70, of Fremont passed away on October 24, 2023 at the Genoa Retirement Center. Gary was born on January 27, 1953, son of the late Willard and Murva (Williams) Thanasiu. 

Gary was a faithful man and loved serving the Lord through his work as a Pastor. In his spare time, he also enjoyed building and woodworking, especially on projects involving the Church. 

Gary is survived by his daughters: Michelle (Jamie) Repass, Chasity Waters, and Sarah Kolinski; stepchildren: Allen Shorts, Pamela (Larry) Moyes, Luke Shorts, Lynn (Brian) LeJune, and David Shorts; grandchildren: Shawna, Miranda, Brady, Brianna, Paula, Julian, Jordan, Kaiden, Avalon, Josh, Elantra, and Delorean; five great-grandchildren; and siblings: Willard Thanasiu, Judy Barnett, Jim Thanasiu, Jerry Thanasiu, Kim Thanasiu, and Jeff Thanasiu. 

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Thanasiu, whom he married on August 3, 2002, in Bellevue; daughter, Katrina Thanasiu; and granddaughter, Justice Pickle.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 4:00-6:00PM at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410, until a funeral service beginning at 6:00PM.
