Gary LaFollette, 84, of Clyde passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his home. He was born April 19, 1937 in Fostoria the son of Robert and Florence (Dicus) LaFollette.
Gary was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1956-1958 as a Medic. He then worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad for 33 years as an Engineer. Outside of work, Gary loved sports and coached Football and Basketball at Immaculate Conception School for 10 years with his life-long friend, Ed Soldano. He was an avid dog lover and is greatly missed by his constant companions Sophie and Ceasar
Gary is survived by his wife, Sue Ann (Emrick) whom he married December 23, 2005; 2 daughters: Lori Shiets and Kendra Shaffer; grandchildren: Bree Dowling, Will Dowling, Gabe Dowling, Katie Shiets, James Rowles, and Brooke Casperson; and brothers, Neil (Mary) LaFollette and David (Sue) LaFollette.
In addition to his parents, Gary preceded in death by his first wife, Corinne “Sue” Wybensinger; and sister, Karen LaFollette and his best buddy Terry Godfrey.
Military Honors will begin on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde. Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in care of arrangements.
