Garth Reitz Obituary

Garth Reitz, age 87 of Bellevue passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, surrounded by family. He was born March 30, 1935, in Bellevue, the son of the late John R. Reitz and Iris (Keesey) Reitz.

Garth retired from Armstrong Air where he was an electrician.

Garth enjoyed meeting with friends for morning coffee at the Eagles and at Missler Industries, spending time with family, fishing, and working on cars and lawn mowers.

He is survived by his son, Brian (Barbara) Reitz of Bellevue, Daughters, Melissa (Dave) McElwain of Bellevue, Wendy Weber of Bellevue, grandchildren, Casey (Hilary) McElwain, Amber (Ryan) Missler, Jesse (Erikka) Weber, Bailey (Jake) Schlottag, Elizabeth Reitz, Evan Reitz, great-grandchildren, Braden McElwain, Kenzie McElwain, Bryson McElwain, Lilian Missler, Scarlet Missler, Oliver Missler, Dalton Schlottag, Milo Schlottag, Violet Schlottag, and Everett Weber.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June (Norman) Reitz, whom he married August 8, 1958 in Bellevue, brother, John Reitz, and sister, Mildred Shockley.

A private memorial will be held. Foos and Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
