Franklin D. "Frankie" Roope III

Franklin D. Roope III, affectionately known to his family and friends as Frankie, age 41 of Clyde, OH, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo, OH. Frankie was born May 23, 1984, in Auburn, IN, the son of Franklin D. Roope II and Laura (Troyer) Roope.

Frankie was a bright and driven young man who valued education and worked hard to achieve his goals. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University, two Associate degrees in Medical Coding and Nursing from Terra State Community College, and later completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The Ohio State University. He took great pride in his accomplishments and was especially proud to be a devoted Ohio State fan, cheering on the Buckeyes every chance he got.

Frankie had a love for travel and especially enjoyed spending time near the waterfront, where he felt most at peace. He treasured simple but meaningful moments, like trying new restaurants with his dad and sharing laughter around the table. His family meant everything to him. He loved spending time with his brothers and doting on his nieces, always ready with a joke, a smile, or words of encouragement.

A man of deep faith, Frankie was a member of The Chapel in Sandusky, where he volunteered in the children’s programs and found great joy in serving others. He also gave his time helping in the press box at Clyde Fliers Football games, supporting his community with enthusiasm. Frankie will be remembered for his big heart, unwavering faith, quick wit, and the love he so freely gave to those around him.

Frankie is survived by his mother, Laura Roope of Clyde, OH; brothers: Jacob (Teresa) Roope, and Nicholas (Erica) Roope of Doylestown, OH; grandparents: Franklin and Lynda Roope of Clyde; and his nieces: Sofia and Alessia. 

Frankie is preceded in death by his father, Franklin D. Roope II.

Friends will be received on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 11:00am until a funeral service beginning at 2:00pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde. 

Everyone attending Frankie’s services is invited to wear their Ohio State Apparel in his honor.

Memorial donations may be made in Frankie’s honor to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
