Franklin D. Roope II

Franklin Roope II, 63, of Clyde passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at the Stein Hospice Care Center.  He was born May 22, 1962 in Willard, Ohio the son of Franklin and Lynda (Mosier) Roope.

Frank was an aviation electrician in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Kittyhawk and USS Constellation. Following his military discharge, he worked as an electrician for the Heinz Co. in Fremont for many years. He was an active member of The Chapel in Sandusky and was involved in the Clyde community, where he helped coach track and field. Frank cherished the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping, and woodworking. He was an avid fan, cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Clyde Fliers. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family and friends. His family will always remember the mantra he instilled in them: “Adapt. Improvise. Overcome.”

Frank married Laura (Troyer) on July 21, 1983 in Centerville, MI; She survives along with their 3 sons: Franklin Roope III of Green Springs, Jacob (Teresa) Roope of Brecksville, and Nicholas (Erica) Roope of Doylestown; 2 beloved grandchildren: Sofia Roope and Alessia Roope; sister, Kimberly Roope of Tiffin; as well as his parents, Franklin and Lynda Roope of Clyde.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Bradley Roope.

Friends will be received on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. at Foos Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Highway, Clyde.  A funeral service will begin on Saturday, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial with military honors will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
