Floyd Cox, 86, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1936 in Gallipolis, Ohio the son of Floyd D. and Claris A. (Halley) Cox.
Floyd was employed by the Whirlpool Corp. in Clyde for 36 years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, working around the house, and especially on his lawn.
He is survived by his son, Gregory (Rae Lyn) Cox of Clyde; daughter, Susan (Terry) Groves of Bellevue; 5 grandchildren: Todd Groves, Randy Cox, Justin Cox, Bryan Cox, and Heather Cox-Westcott; 2 step grandsons: Steven Groves and Chad Groves; and several great grandchildren; brothers: Hayward Cox of Norwalk, Allen Cox, Warner Cox, and Charles Cox, all of Gallipolis; sisters, Alice Bing and Louella Hazelbaker of Gallipolis; and his special friend, Barbara Clark.
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice (Smetzer) Cox, whom he married on June 9, 1954 in Castalia; son, Robert Cox; brother, Merrill Cox; and sisters, Grace Reel and Evelyn Wright.
Private services with burial in Parkhurst Cemetery will be observed. Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is assisting with arrangements.
