Elaine Young

Elaine Young, 71, of Willard passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.  She as born February 27, 1949 in Willard, Ohio the daughter of Oliver J. “O.J.” and Margaret (Camp) Phillips. 

Elaine was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Willard, and a member of the former St. Sebastian’s Catholic Church in Bismark.  She served in the Altar Rosary Society at St. Sebastian’s for many years under numerous roles, and also served as a 4-H advisor for many years.  She was formerly employed as a bank teller at the Willard United Bank where she enjoyed working as the drive thru teller.  After retiring from banking, Elaine enjoyed embroidering.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel L. Young, who she married on June 26, 1971 at St. Sebastian’s Church; a daughter, Kendra (William “Cy”) Freeman of Pemberville; two sons, Neil (Angie) Young of Attica and Philip “P.J.” (Melissa) Young of Painesville; 4 grandchildren: Erin, Seth, Emily & Noah; a brother, Rick (Barb) Phillips of Willard; two sisters, Carol Daniel of Willard and Connie (Steve) Carpenter of Fremont.

In addition to her parents, Elaine is preceded in death by her son, David Young; brother-in-law, Ray Daniel; and sister-in-law, Nancy Phillips.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 14, 2020 from 2 – 8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.  Under current State of Ohio mandates masks and social distancing will be required.  The family urges those who are at risk or uncomfortable in crowds to attend the Mass or graveside service on Saturday.  A funeral Mass officiated by Fr. George Mahas will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 25 W. Perry Street, Willard, Ohio 44890.  Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Bismark.
