Elaine Hamernik, age 93, of Bellevue passed away on August 6, 2023 at her residence. Elaine was born
on February 17, 1930, the daughter of the late Jacob and Victoria Bialaszewski (Kokocinski).
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Elaine was also member of
the Altar Rosary Society and N.A.R.V.E. Elaine cherished her children, grandchildren, and great
grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by her children, Charmaine (James) Kazmierczak of Jacksonville, Florida, Jean (Lonnie)
McKenzie of Beverly Hills, Florida, James (Maryellen) Hamernik of Norwalk, Richard Hamernik of
Bellevue, Ann (Charles) Schneider of Bellevue, and Mark (Mardella) Hamernik of Sandusky; 17
grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Audrey Hamernik of
Depew, New York; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Hamernik whom she
married on January 21, 1950, in Dunkirk, New York; siblings, Stanley Gould, Emily Newman, Edmund
Bialaszewski, Florence Hamernik, Harry Gould, Leonard Gould, and Raymond Gould.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 10:30-11:30 at Foos and Foos Funeral Service,
151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, Ohio. Following visitation, a funeral mass will be held at 12:00pm at
Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 231 East Center Street, Bellevue, Ohio. Burial will
follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
