Edward Thurn Jr., 64, of Clyde passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. He was born February 26, 1961 in Fremont the son of Edward Sr. and Linda (Huffman) Thurn.
Ed's professional life included a sales representative role, most recently for NFIB in the Clyde area. He was deeply involved in the community, serving as a past President of the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce and former President of the Ohio Seed Improvement Association. His dedication extended to youth sports in Clyde, where he coached football and baseball, and was a wrestling coach for Clyde Amateur Wrestling for 37 years. Additionally, he was a 4-H advisor for 27 years. Ed was a member of the Clyde Eagles and Moose, as well as St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was an avid fan of the Clyde Fliers and The Ohio State University.
He is survived by his wife, Kandy (Witt), whom he married August 18, 1984 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clyde; their three children: Adam (Chelsea) Thurn, Zach (Arcadia) Thurn, and Ashley (Travis) Kerr; 5 grandchildren: Grayson, Savannah, Kollyns, Hunter, and Walker; and siblings: Jeffrey A. Thurn, Steven (Jenelle) Thurn, and Tracy (Andy) Atkinson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Tucker Thurn.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 2 - 8 pm at Foos Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Highway, Clyde. A funeral service will begin on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 147 W. Forest Street, Clyde. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
