Edna A. Schreiner, 96, of Marywood passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at her home. She was born December 20, 1924 in Marywood, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Meda (Zechman) Schreiner and lived her entire life on the Schreiner’s homestead farm.
Edna retired in May 1989 after thirty years of cafeteria food service, working at Thompson, Shumaker (Bellevue) and Seneca-Huron Elementary Schools. She opened and supervised the Seneca-Huron School cafeteria for ten years. She also helped for many years as a caterer and worked at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine for more than fifty years. Edna volunteered at The Bellevue Hospital in the gift shop and also served on the Thompson Township Election Board.
She was a lifelong member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church, formally known as St. Michaels and was an active member of St. Gaspar’s Rosary Altar Society, Church Choir and Senior Fellowship Group. She was a member of Four County Young-At-Heart, and several card clubs and other quilting groups.
Edna is survived by her niece, Mrs. Dee Ann (Byron) Ruffing-Kent of Attica; nephew, Gary Eisenhart of Attica; great nieces, Jolene (Derek) Houpt of Bloomville and Shawna Eisenhart of Florida. She is preceded in death by her sister, Helen (George) Eisenhart; along with her parents, grandparents, a sister and brother in infancy and great-nephew, Charles Ruffing.
Friends will be received on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 1-3 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral Mass will begin on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church, 16209 County Road 46, Bellevue. Masks and social distancing is required for both events. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
