Edith G. Morfier, 93, of Bellevue, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at The Willows at Bellevue. She was born June 13, 1930 in Bellevue, the daughter of Sam and Teresa (Fiorucci) Monarchi.
She had a love for cooking and preparing food and often read cookbooks in her spare time. She owned and operated Eve's Pizza House in Bellevue for many years and catered numerous lunches and dinners for various service groups and events, notably the Bellevue Rotary Club luncheons and the Bellevue Elks. Edith received the Rotary Vocational Service Award in 2014 and on her birthday in 2023, she received the City of Bellevue Proclamation Day for her service as a resident of Bellevue for over 90 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the women's choir.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Stahl of Monclova; daughter-in-law, Kathy Morfier of Bellevue; grandchildren: Abbey (Brad) Cymbola, Joe (Katie) Stahl, and Andrew Morfier; great grandchildren: Mathew and Reed Cymbola, and Gracie, Jonathan, and Louis Stahl; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Monarchi.
Edith married Charles “Red” Morfier Jr., on October 31, 1953 in Bellevue. He preceded her in death in 2012. She is also preceded in death by her son, Charles “Chuck” Morfier III (2007); son-in-law, Duane “Chip” Stahl (2022); brothers: Joseph (Ardis) Monarchi, Nello Monarchi, Edward (Carol) Monarchi; and sisters: Louise (Louis) Pasqualin, Mary (William) Spradlin, Lena (Ira) Harpster, Virginia (Charles) Sabo, and Rosejane (Charles) Rudicel; and special nephew, Daniel Sabo.
A funeral Mass will be held on what would have been her 94th birthday, Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Church, 16209 CR 46, Bellevue. A luncheon will be held following Mass at the St. Gaspar Parish Hall.
