Dorothy Murphy

Dorothy M. Murphy, 96, of Bellevue passed away August 21, 2021 at the Bellevue Care Center.  She was born September 8, 1923, in York Township, Ohio the daughter of the late William and Hallie (Tea) Skiles.

She was a vocational Cosmetology Instructor and operated her own Beauty Shop

Dorothy was a member of Seybert UMC, Sandusky Education Assoc., former member of the Hairdressers Assoc., Bellevue Eagles Aerie 490 Auxiliary, and Bellevue Business and professional Women’s Club.

Survivors include her foster daughters, Vickie Wallington of Clyde, Pat Caldwell of Fremont, and numerous grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Murphy whom she married May 8, 1948 in Bellevue, her son, George W. “Bill” Murphy, brothers, Glenn Skiles and James Skiles.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 27, 2021, at 11:00 am at York Chapel Cemetery, Bellevue.
