Dorothy Forney

Dorothy M. Forney, 87 of Bellevue passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at the St. Francis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Tiffin.  She was born November 2, 1934 in Kirby Ohio the daughter of Louis and Armella (Stark) Thiel.

Dorothy was a graduate of Wharton High School and attended Terra Technical College. She worked for General Electric in Bellevue for 21 years and retired from Providence Hospital in 1992.  Dorothy was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Altar Rosary Society, the Mother of Twin’s Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She married Robert J. Forney on September 12, 1952, at St. Mary’s Church in Kirby.  He survives along with their two children: Sharon Haddox of Bellevue and Patricia (Robert) Jaques of Arizona; Grandchildren: Holly Bollenbacher, Dana Haddox-Wright, Derek Haddox, Neal Hammersmith, Jessica Jaques, and Chad Jaques; and 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Hammersmith; and two brothers: Carl Thiel and Louis “Bud” Thiel.

Friends will be received on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 4-8 pm at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.  A funeral Mass will begin on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue.
