Dorothy A. Filsinger

Dorothy A. Filsinger, age 93 of Clyde, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. She was born in rural Clyde and raised on a farm where she developed a lifelong love for the outdoors. In 1952, she and her family moved into the city limits where she has resided in the same home for over 70 years. This created a lifetime of memories with family and friends.

She graduated from Clyde High School in 1950, and began working at GE in Bellevue. In 1977, she began working at Whirlpool where she worked for over 30 years.

Dorothy was fiercely independent, willfully stubborn, and incredibly generous.

In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises with her friends. Egypt held a special place in her heart, inspiring many of her collections.

She was always the happiest gardening and tending to her yard work.

Many summer family get-togethers were spent making homemade ice cream. During the Holidays, she always gifted trays of assorted Christmas cookies, which will be greatly missed! She had a love for animals and had a special cat which brought her great joy.

She will be remembered for all these things plus her independence, strength, love for her family, and her beautiful red hair!

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents: Raymond and Marietta (Woolley) Filsinger; and 3 sisters.

Dorothy is survived by her nephew, Larry (Kathy) Goshe; nieces: Diana (Dennis) Humphrey and Becky (Kevin) Scherger; 3 great-nieces; and 1 great-nephew.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00am at McPherson Cemetery in Clyde, OH.
