Donald R. Stanley, age 76 of Clyde, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky. Donald was born August 31, 1943 in Amba, Kentucky the son of the late Morg and Rebecca Stanley.
Don owned and operated Stanley Excavating and worked at Ford Motor Company in Sandusky, Ohio. He retired from Ford in 1999 after 30-years of service. He enjoyed watching Kentucky Wildcats basketball and spending time with family. His favorite activity was spending time with his grandsons.
Donald is survived by his wife, Emma (Pinion) Stanley of Clyde, whom he married in 1961 in Virginia; son, Donald (Beth) Stanley, Jr. of Clyde; daughter, Sherry (Matthew Duskin) Stanley of Clay City, Kentucky; grandchildren: Preston Lairson (Kayleigh Gehring), Donald Stanley III, and Chance Stanley; great-granddaughter Ariya Wurzel, and his cousin and best friend, Mack Stanley.
In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his brothers: Bobby Stanley, Paul Stanley, Billy Joe Stanley, and Herbert Stanley.
Friends will be received Friday, February 14, 2020 from 11:00am until a funeral service beginning at 1pm at Foos Funeral and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
