Donald G. Hartley of Bellevue passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Stein Hospice Care Center. He was born February 17, 1936, in Bellevue, the son of Carl F. and Thelma Marie (Gildenmeister) Hartley.
Don was a graduate of York High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He worked as a farmer in Bellevue with his family. A job he truly loved and never retired from as he was able to complete his harvest this year. Don always put his family first and enjoyed attending all the sporting events of his grandkids throughout the years. When his children were young, he attended many horse shows to watch them compete. He enjoyed restoring tractors and cars in his shop; While also going snowmobiling with his friends, and watching NASCAR and attending the races at Attica Raceway Park to watch his granddaughter's husband race.
He is survived by his two daughters: Tammy (Michael) Myers and Kim (Dan) Lepley; and son, Daniel Hartley; 9 grandchildren: Jason Myers, Josh, Myers, Jordie (Jeff) Martin, Karen (Mike) Bores, Kasey (Jarrid) Breyman, Dusty Lepley, Ethan Hartley, Isaac Hartley, and Owen Hartley; and great grandchildren: Addyson, Blake, Carl, Madison, Kenzlie, Luke, Keagan, Kamden, Karter, Kensley, Faith, and Kohen.
Don is preceded in death by his parents.
Private services with burial in York Chapel Cemetery will be observed. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
