Donald C. “Frenchie” French, 90, of Bellevue passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Heritage Village of Clyde. He was born December 17, 1929 in Port Clinton, Ohio the son of Donald E. and Isabel (Polson) French.
Donald served in the United States Army Air Corps, and the United States Air Force. He married Donna Rose (Kessler) French on March 21, 1947 in Port Clinton, Ohio; She preceded him in death in 2002. Don was employed at the Ford Automotive Plant in Sandusky for 42 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Bellevue Elks where he served as Exalted Ruler and also a member of the Bellevue Moose and VFW.
He is survived by his four daughters: Pamela (Leon) White of Clyde, Colleen Forney of Bellevue, Christie (John E.) Battelline of Bellevue, and Cynthia Knogge of Mulberry, Indiana; 11 grandchildren: Loren Gene White, Donald Allen White, Joshua Dane White, Angela Dawn Heiser, Thomas A. Forney, Heather Colleen Forney, Nathan Battelline, Christopher Battelline, Brooke Elizabeth Albertson, and Brian Joseph David; 23 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Donald French; and granddaughter, Jessica Battelline.
Friends will be received on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 10 a.m. until a funeral service begins at 11 a.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Donald’s honor be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
