Denny Brooks

Dennis “Denny” C. Brooks, age 70, passed away on Sunday afternoon, November 21, 2021 at The Bellevue Hospital following a brief illness. Denny was born on July 11, 1951 in Bellevue, the son of the late Rita “Mae” Brooks and Elery C. Brooks.  

Denny was often found rescuing various mechanical items he swore he could get working again.  Mechanics and engineering were Denny’s lifelong passions. He loved wood working and developed this skill set in high school many years ago. He owned and operated his own garage throughout most of his adult life. Denny enjoyed catching up with old friends while leaning over an engine of any car or truck. 

Denny is survived by his children, Eddie (Diane) Brooks of Bellevue and Denise Greenawald of Sandusky; his sisters, Susan (Dennis) Miller, Peggy (Thomas) Norton, and Mary (Lee) Matter, all of Bellevue; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, Denny is preceded in death by his daughters, Dawn (Brooks) Vargus and Danielle (Brooks) Tester; grandsons, Noah Greenawald and Juan Vargas Jr. 

A private memorial service will be held by Denny’s family.  Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of the arrangements.
