Dennis A. Norman Sr. died unexpectedly on Tuesday February 18, 2025, at his residence. He was only 80 years old (he would have said “only”). The family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. Dennis was born on February 11, 1945.
Dennis is survived and missed by his loving wife Kimberly (McClain) of 57 years; and his children, Ammie, Dennis Jr., and Johnny. Forever cherished and remembered by his four grandchildren, Brittnee, Brandi, Delaney, and Flynn. And loved by his son-in-law John Strachan and daughter-in-law Angela Norman (Hall).
Dennis was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy (Crawford), his brother Arthur Jr., sister Elizabeth “Betty” (Whitman), mother Rose (Cuccaro), and his father Arthur Sr. He is survived by his sisters Joan (Bundschuh) and Sue (Meador), his brother Tom, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was born in Bellevue, Ohio. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He served his community for 32 years with the Bellevue Police Department, retiring as a Captain.
Dennis was an exceptional cook who loved to share what he had created. He also loved to hunt and spend time with his friends on hunting trips. He looked forward to having his daily coffee with his brother and friends. Together they shared many laughs and always talked about what the remainder of their day had in store for each of them.
By nature, Dennis was a born listener. Many have said that he was a man of few words, but when he spoke he had something worth listening to.
There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to our friends and family who have been there for us during this difficult time. Also, a heartfelt thank you to John Strachan, Bellevue EMTs, and the physicians and nurses of the Bellevue Hospital for doing everything they could to save our Dad.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 4-7 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A graveside service with Military Honors will begin on Saturday at 11 am at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Bellevue Fallen Soldiers Memorial - PO Box 8005 Bellevue, OH 44811
