Dean Hensinger – 87, of Bellevue, Passed away Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023. Dean was born June 30, 1935 to the late O. Kenneth Hensinger and E. Fern (Zehring) Hensinger. He married the love of his life, Arlene (Kosman) Hensinger on June 23, 1959. Together they have two sons, Steven (Susan) Hensinger of Columbus and Randel (Chrissy Sassaman) Hensinger of Bellevue and one daughter, Deanna (Christopher) Savage of Bellevue. They have eight grandchildren, Joshua Hensinger, Kristen Decker, Brett Hensinger, Jamie Savage, Jessica Savage, Jacob (Marty) Savage, Noah Hensinger and Samuel Hensinger, and one great granddaughter, Isabella Hensinger. All survive. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many cherished friends.
In addition his parents, Dean is preceded in death two brothers, Thomas Hensinger and O. Gordon Hensinger and six sisters, Gweneth McGuckin, Dona White, Patricia Trumpower, G. Margene Hensinger, Sharon Sour, C. Ilona Churchill
Dean worked for many years as Plant Superintendent at Klein Steel and then for several years at A. Schulman, where he retired, both in Bellevue.
He was a life time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue and Masonic Lodge #273, Eagles Lodge #3912, VFW Post #1238 American Legion all of Bellevue. Dean also enjoyed being a part of the Lutheran Dartball league and the Huron County Dartball League.
Dean was a Member of the Glass City AMC Club, American Motors Owners Association (AMO) and Car Coddlers of Ohio.
Friends and family may attend calling hours, Wednesday, April 5th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm and 5:00 – 7:00pm with Masonic service at 6:45 pm and Funeral Service beginning at 7:00pm at Foos & Foos Funeral Service 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH 44811 The Rev. Beth Westphal of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Rev. Steven L. Hensinger of Church of God (Anderson) Officiating
Interment will be in Block Cemetery, Republic, OH on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. A procession line will be formed at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH at 10:00am with military honors to follow after arriving at the cemetery.
