David "The Fonz" Lonz

David “The Fonz” Nelson Lonz, age 69, of Monroeville passed away on July 8, 2024 at Mercy Heart and Vascular Hospital. David was born on July 20, 1954, the son of the late Nelson and Mildred (Phillips) Lonz.

Dave was a man who loved life and getting everybody to laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his dog Ruby Gail, and cat Lilly. His passions were 70s classic rock, fishing, and race cars. He will be greatly missed by his wife and 2 children.

David is survived by his wife, Shirley (Hawes) Lonz, whom he married on April 26, 2016 in Bryan, OH; son Dwayne Lefler, Jr.; daughter, Karie Misler; 7 grandchildren; niece, Jennifer Meagrow; 2 great-nephews; and sister-in-law, Sandy Lonz.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Izzara; sister, Catherine Lonz; and brother, Duane Lonz.
