David Joseph Dignan passed away at home on September 1st, 2024, surrounded by family members and friends, following an extended illness. He was 74 years old.
Dave was a 1968 graduate of Western Reserve High School. He played one year of football for Western Reserve. Dave had a lengthy career with the Norfolk and Western Railroad. Following his years with Norfolk and Western, Dave began a new career in the entertainment industry. Initially he specialized in radio advertising sales. From sales he expanded into organization and promotion of concerts featuring well known performers such as Jay and the Americans, Rascal Flats and Darryl Worley to name a few. Dave had a lifelong interest in classic and special interest cars, owning several different models over the years. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Dave is survived by his fiancé Corliss Johnson, his son Joshua Dignan, daughter in law Leah Colvin, granddaughter Haylee Williamson, grandson Seth Dawson, his brother James Smith, sister-in-law Jane (Benton) Baily-Smith, sister- in-law Marlena Jo (Taylor) Smith in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother Francis (Hemminger) Dignan, his father Kenneth Dignan, his wife Rhonda Kim (Gilbert) Dignan, brother Junior Dignan, sister-in-law. Anette Dignan, sister Twila (Dignan) Leach, brother-in-law Ernie Leach, Sister Judy (Smith) Ellis and brother-in-law Brian Ellis.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Dave’s memory.
A memorial gathering will be held on September 15, 2024, from 1:00pm until a celebration of life service begins at 2:00pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410.
