David D. Dales

David D. Dales, age 82 of Green Springs, OH, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at his home. David was born March 27, 1942, in Virginia, the son of the late Kelly and Fay (McClanahan) Dales.

David worked for a while as a coal miner for the Clinchfield Coal Company and later at Fremont Plastics for over 25 years. He was lovingly nicknamed, “Dinosaur,” by his great-grandchildren. David loved Old Western movies and shows, especially those featuring John Wayne.

David is survived by his wife, Elva (Deel) Dales of Green Springs; sons: Gregory (Rhonda) Dales of Fremont, Jamison (Beth) Dales of Green Springs, and Timothy Dales of Clyde; grandchildren: Jamie Stanton, Amanda Mays, Nicole Dales, Jacob Dales, Brooke Dales, Kayla Dearth, Breanna Crabtree, Summeraine Dales, and Aaron Markin; great-grandchildren: Colby and Chase Stanton, Hunter and Jax Mays, Ariel Clevinger, Harper McGowan, Colt and Lainey Dearth, Brahms and Eva Crabtree, and Makai Wright; and sister, Pat Fitzpatrick of Bellevue.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his grandsons: Cody Dales and Andy Finley; and siblings: James Dales, Della Deel, Violet Mincer, Pauline Owens, Mable Hale, and Vera Thrun.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 10:00am until a funeral service beginning at 12:00pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. Burial will follow at Butternut Ridge Cemetery.
