Dallas Ludwig Obituary

Dallas A. Ludwig age 79 of Clyde, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Dec. 15, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. He was born July 22, 1942 in Fremont the son of the Late Dallas F. & Catherine (Preble) Ludwig.

Dallas worked at Whirlpool Corporation and retired after 47+ years of service and he served in the US Army.  Dallas loved his country and was a very proud and outspoken Trump supporter.

Dallas will be missed and remembered for his love of collecting every Budweiser Stein ever created and the elusive hunt trying to find these “national treasures”. Even enlisting the help of his daughter Lynn to find the very last one that he was unable to find for many years until she happened to find it on the internet one day! It cost him more than any other Stein but he was so proud of that Stein and the hard work Lynn did getting it for him. Dallas was a collector of many “treasures” and now his family can continue remembering him through his beloved collections.

He was a member of the Clyde Eagles and the VFW.

Survivors include his children Dallas II (Penny Sorg) Ludwig, Lisa (Mike) Biehl, Lynn (Jason Lozier) Ludwig, grandchildren Melissa (John), Dallas III (Crystal), Jeremy (Chelsea), Adam (Lisa), Tylor (Shannon) and Bryce; several great-grandchildren; his special fur-baby Cody and sister in-law's Deanna Tash and Allison Iverson of Washington State.

A special honor to our dear friend Julie Blair for loving our family home through her care and always making time to sit down afterwards for a drink and fellowship with our father. He looked so forward to her time with him and she made our lives complete. And last but not least our dear friend Hal Lovins who deeply cared for our father's lawn as if it were his own, coming to our rescue when anything needed done at the last minute and making time to joke with our father about the too serious things in life. Special thanks to our dear neighbors, Vinny, Mark, Daniel and Katie for your love, honor and prayers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life Darlene (Iverson) Ludwig whom he married July 27, 1963 in Washington State, and his sister Kitty Ludwig.

Friends will be received Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 4 pm until a funeral service begins at 6 pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson, Clyde, OH 43410. Military honors will follow the service.
